Impermanence

Living with a lighter touch,
I see impermanence as my greatest teacher now,
My greatest guide.
Impermanence of word, of thought, of body and mind,
Of friend and love, even.

I see attachment to it all as the greatest cause of my suffering.
These sleepless nights,
This grasping,
This panic and holding.

Impermanence is my greatest teacher now
Of my own insignificance.
And I see every word, every thought, every line, every grasping
As cells in my body soon to be gone…
